Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for day and night shifts in the Raleigh, NC area. You will lead roadway and underground utility crews on NCDOT projects, coordinating schedules and ensuring safety and QA on every shift.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy civil roadway or underground utility supervision, with DOT project experience and a valid license. Relocation to the Triangle area is welcome, with a strong project pipeline in NC and VA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility experience at the superintendent or senior foreman level
• DOT roadway or utility project experience; night work a plus
• Knowledge of grading, storm drainage, water and sewer installation, and paving sequencing
• Understanding of work zone traffic control
• Ability to read plans and specs and track quantities
• Willing to work day or night shifts as needed
• Valid driver’s license
• NCDOT project experience is a plus
• OSHA 30 is a plus
• Triangle location or relocation to Raleigh area is preferred

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries
• Plan the work and hold the project schedule shift to shift
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures inside approved work windows
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track installed quantities and daily production
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift
