Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Roadway / Utility Superintendent to manage day and night field operations on heavy civil, roadway and utility projects across NC and VA. You will lead crews, coordinate subs, manage traffic control, ensure safety, and work with NCDOT inspectors.

This role offers a stable pipeline of NCDOT work and room to grow with a self-perform contractor. Relocation to the Triangle is welcome; strong leadership, DOT experience and ability to read plans

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway/underground utility experience at superintendent or senior foreman level
• DOT roadway or utility project experience, night work a plus
• Able to read plans and specs and keep accurate quantities
• Strong work zone traffic control knowledge
• Ready to work day or night shifts as the job needs
• NCDOT project experience is a plus
• OSHA 30 is a plus
• Based in the Triangle or ready to relocate to the Raleigh area

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries
• Plan the work and hold the project schedule shift to shift
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures inside approved work windows
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track installed quantities and daily production
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift
