The position emphasizes hands-on duties such as debris removal, guardrail and sign maintenance, pothole repair, drainage cleaning, and traffic control setup. Eligibility includes a valid license and physical ability for demanding work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and emergency response on active highways.
• Install, repair, and replace guardrail, signs, delineators, and safety devices.
• Repair potholes and pavement using asphalt and concrete.
• Clean ditches, culverts, and drainage systems.
• Mow and maintain highway rights-of-way.
• Set up traffic control devices and lane closures.
• Respond to vehicle accidents, severe weather, and emergencies.
• Assist with snow and ice removal operations.
• Operate and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
