Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking Inspectors and Technicians for Construction Inspection Services to support NCDOT projects. The role involves field and laboratory testing, inspection of earthwork, concrete and utility construction, and collaboration with a cross‑functional team across multiple NC sites.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience on NCDOT projects, familiarity with highway specs, and certifications such as ACI Grade I and NICET Level II Soils.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in construction inspection and testing on NCDOT projects.
• Familiarity with highway construction specifications and previous field experience.
• Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing.
• Experience with field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, structural steel, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and testing for earthwork, concrete, asphalt and utility construction.
• Conduct engineering field testing on roadway/bridge projects.
• Inspect and report on concrete pours, rebar placement, pipe replacements and similar activities.
• Inspect and sample construction materials.
• Prepare computations, plot data and draw simple graphs.
• Support Engineers in the field during soil and materials investigations.
• Ensure tests and observations comply with project specifications and standard methods.
• Maintain project records and reports.
