Job summary

CTL Engineering, Inc. seeks Inspectors/Technicians to support NCDOT and other transportation projects in North Carolina. You will perform field inspection, testing, and quality control on road, bridge and utility construction, collaborating with engineers and clients.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in construction inspection, knowledge of highway specs, and certifications like ACI Grade I or NICET II soils. Regional travel in south central NC is common; a valid license is required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of engineering, construction, testing and inspection principles.
Experience with materials testing.
Experience with standard testing and observation methods.
Understanding of construction or engineering services.
Experience in quality control initiatives and performance testing.

Responsibilities

Perform inspection services for earthwork, concrete, asphalt and utilities on NCDOT, municipal and private projects.
Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt and samples.
Inspect and report on construction works, including pours and rebar placement.
Verify plan quantities and calculations as bid plans.
Prepare and maintain project records and reports.
Assist Engineers in the field during soil and materials investigations.
