Job summary

CTL Engineering is hiring Inspectors/Technicians for Construction Inspection Services in the Raleigh area. You will play a key role in inspection, testing, and quality control for NCDOT, county, and local projects, including roadway and bridge work, with opportunities to work in field, lab, and some office settings.

We value problem-solving, a collaborative culture, and travel across central NC. A stipend for vehicle use or a company vehicle may be provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in construction inspection and testing on NCDOT projects.
• Familiarity with highway construction specifications and field experience.
• Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing.
• Experience with field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, structural steel, etc.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections and/or CWI/NDT inspectors – good to have but not required.
• Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction engineering technician (inspection) services for NCDOT, municipalities, and private sector clients.
• Perform engineering and construction field testing for roadway/bridge projects.
• Inspect and report on concrete pours, rebar placement, pipe replacements, and more.
• Inspect and sample construction materials.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports.
• Notify Contractor or Project Engineer of non-conforming work.
