Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector in Tifton, GA or Southwest GA to perform field inspection of roadway and bridge construction projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, verifying materials, maintaining project records, and supporting project engineers and management staff during construction. The role requires 1.5–3 years of transportation inspection experience, ability to read plans, and GDOT certifications or the ability to obtain them within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 years of progressive transportation inspection experience with a State Highway Agency or consulting firm.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and contract documents.
• Valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in Georgia.
• Certifications listed above must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, structural steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill operations.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion and sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain accurate contract documentation and project records.
• Prepare reports, maintain inspection records, and document project activities and findings.
• Supervise or provide directions to inspectors performing routine inspection activities, as assigned.
