Job summary
Accura Engineering is seeking a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection for roadway, bridge, and transportation projects in Georgia. You will conduct field inspections, verify materials and workmanship, and maintain project records while supporting project engineers and management staff.
The role requires reading plans, interpreting specifications, and applying GDOT inspection standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 18 months to 3 years of progressive inspection experience.
- Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, or heavy civil projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
- Certifications listed (GDOT WECS, Concrete Tech) and tests to qualify.
Responsibilities
- Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction.
- Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, and compaction.
- Inspect structural components and operations including foundations and steelwork.
- Monitor traffic control devices and erosion/sediment controls.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and project records.
- Prepare reports and supervise/coordinate other inspectors as needed.
- Participate in project meetings and plan reviews.
- Assist with construction management duties on various transportation projects.
