Job summary

The Auto Club Group is seeking a Service Vehicle Operator to respond to roadside calls, assist stranded motorists with jumps, tire changes, lockouts, and safe tows. You will work independently on the road, using GPS and tablets to manage requests while ensuring member safety and satisfaction.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and pass background checks, DOT medical, and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver’s license with minimal driving infractions/incidents.
• Must pass drug screening, MVR review, background check, and DOT physical.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
• Ability to work independently and make in-field decisions.
• Comfort with GPS, mobile tech, tablets and electronic apps.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret roadside procedures and member benefits.
• AA training programs completion required.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside assistance requests from AAA members using a tow truck or service vehicle.
• Provide emergency roadside services including tire changes, fuel delivery, battery testing and installation, jump starts, lockout assistance, and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Safely tow disabled vehicles following established procedures and towing guidelines.
• Verify AAA membership and deliver outstanding customer service at every interaction.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Use tablets and devices to manage calls, update service requests, and access towing procedures.
• Document daily activities, service calls, vehicle logs, and receipts.
• Maintain DOT certification and an acceptable driving record.
• Meet goals related to member satisfaction, safety, and productivity.
• Support community and AAA events as needed.
