Ciena Healthcare is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager for Regency at Westland in Michigan. The role leads daily operations of a nursing unit to ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered care in line with regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute setting
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred
• Working knowledge of nursing practice, infection control, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs and CNAs/STNAs.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, hires and trains staff; plans, assigns and directs workflow.
• Prepares work assignments with resident safety and staff capability in mind.
• Receives calls and finds replacements for absent staff; transfers staff between units as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations affecting tenure and wage increases.
• Schedules and adjusts lunch and rest breaks; handles staff complaints.
• Determines rotation of nurses within unit; monitors and corrects job performance.
• Disciplining employees up to discharge when necessary; ensures supervision of staff.

Education

BSN preferred

2+ years clinical in long-term care/post-acute

1+ year supervisory/management

Knowledge of nursing practice, infection control, regulatory requirements
