Job summary

MediLodge of Gaylord is seeking a Unit Manager Registered Nurse to direct the operation of a nursing unit within a long-term care facility. You will lead clinical and administrative activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements and delivering high-quality resident care.

The role emphasizes staff development, supervision, and collaboration with physicians to meet care standards and budget targets in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• RN license in state (if required)
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (degree preferred)
• Three years of nursing experience, including at least one year in long-term care
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Direct the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility.
• Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues for the unit.
• Manage staff with hiring, discipline, evaluation, and development.
• Ensure staffing meets resident needs and budgetary controls.
• Oversee QA programs and ensure high quality patient care.
• Coordinate physician interactions and timely interventions as needed.
• Review census and staffing patterns and reassign personnel as necessary.
• Obtain medications, supplies and records needed for safe care.
• Support orientation and coaching of new personnel.
