Job summary

MediLodge of Taylor in Taylor, MI is seeking a Unit Manager RN to direct the nursing unit within a long-term care facility. You will oversee staffing, care planning, regulatory compliance, and resident care quality.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, has at least three years of nursing experience with a year in long-term care, and demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills to mentor staff and collaborate with physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) (state requirements)
• Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
• Three years of nursing experience; at least one year in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• hires, disciplines and evaluates employees; management of unit staff.
• Plans and facilitates resident-care meetings and committees.
• Ensures staffing meets resident needs within budget and quality standards.
• Oversees programs for recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of nursing staff.
• Coordinates physician interactions to ensure timely interventions.
• Monitors unit operations, resident conditions, and quality of care.
• Manages medication, supplies and records for safe care.
• Mentors new personnel and participates in QA activities.
