Job summary

MediLodge of St. Clair is seeking a Unit Manager/Nurse Supervisor RN to lead the nursing unit, oversee staff, and drive resident-centered care in a long-term care facility.

The role requires a registered nurse with leadership skills, a focus on quality care, and experience coordinating with physicians and care teams. Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential for daily operations and staff development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN); CPR certification if applicable.
• Three years of nursing experience, with at least one year in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Performs General Management Functions such as hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees.
• Plans and facilitates meetings and committees addressing resident care issues for the unit.
• Manages area of responsibility to achieve high-quality care.
• Develops and evaluates programs for recruitment, retention, and continuing education of staff.
• Contacts physicians when necessary to ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
• Reviews staffing patterns and census to ensure adequate coverage and budget control.
• Monitors unit operations and ensures safe, effective care and documentation.
• Obtains medications, supplies, and medical records for resident care.
• Assists in orienting new personnel and mentors staff.
• Participates in the facility QA program.
