Job summary

MediLodge of GTC in Traverse City, MI is seeking a Unit Manager Registered Nurse to direct the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility.

You will lead staffing, develop teams, and ensure high-quality resident care while coordinating with physicians and care teams to deliver patient-centered services. The role emphasizes growth, teamwork, and professional development for nursing staff.

Qualifications

• RN licensed with current credentials.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• Three years of nursing experience, with LTC exposure.

Responsibilities

• Performs General Management Functions such as hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees.
• Plans and facilitates meetings and committees to address resident care issues for the unit.
• Manages area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.
• Participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for staff development and continuing education.
• Contacts physicians as necessary and ensures timely interventions.
• Reviews staffing patterns and census to meet resident needs and budget controls.
• Monitors clinical operations and ensures effective, quality care for residents.
• Obtains medications, supplies and records needed for safe care.
• Assists in orientation of new personnel and oversees staff procedures.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
