Job summary

Canterbury Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center seeks a Staff Development Coordinator to lead education initiatives, support clinical staff development, and ensure regulatory compliance through ongoing training and competency programs.

The role focuses on developing training for new and existing staff, maintaining education records, and collaborating with nursing leadership to identify educational needs in a busy long-term care facility in Virginia.

Qualifications

• RN license active in VA and in good standing.
• Experience as Staff Development Coordinator, Infection Preventionist, or similar leadership role preferred.
• Strong ability to build relationships with staff at all levels.
• Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, nursing education, and staff competency requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staffing levels and nursing care support quality resident outcomes.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for staff.
• Conduct orientation and ongoing in-service education for compliance with policies and regulations.
• Maintain education records, competency validations, and documentation.
• Assist with admissions as needed and support nursing workflow.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and promote staff development.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and clinical competencies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through education and coaching.
