Job summary

Morgan Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to lead educational initiatives, support clinical staff development, and promote regulatory compliance through ongoing training and competency programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with nursing leadership to identify education needs and ensure quality resident care in a 120-bed sub-acute and long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Rhode Island.
• Prior experience as Staff Development Coordinator or similar leadership role in a nursing/healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and staff competency requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the center maintains appropriate staffing levels and nursing care to support quality resident outcomes.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for new and existing employees.
• Conduct employee orientation and ongoing in-service education to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized education records, competency validations, and required documentation.
• Assist with admissions as needed and support the nursing department's overall workflow and resident care units.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and promote continuous staff development.
• Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and clinical competencies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through education, coaching, and staff development.
