Job summary

Northern Nevada State Veterans Home is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator to lead education, strengthen clinical skills, and promote high standards of care.

The role focuses on coordinating annual in-service training, developing training programs, maintaining calendars, tracking licenses, and supporting new hire orientation and probationary staff development within a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• RN program completion required.
• Long-term care RN experience preferred.
• Active Nevada RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must comply with attendance policies and punctuality.
• Must comply with infectious disease policies including TB screening.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule all required annual in-service training for every department.
• Assess nursing department training needs and develop educational programs.
• Develop and maintain an annual staff training calendar.
• Track nursing staff licenses and ensure credentials remain current.
• Assist with department training as needed.
• Assist in developing/updating policies and procedures under Executive Director guidance.
• Develop/orient new hire programs.
• Support probationary employees with training and performance improvement.
• Audit systems to monitor regulatory and facility policy compliance.
