Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an RN Shift Lead I for a part-time, day shift at St James Hospital in Butte, MT. The role provides leadership and clinical expertise, coordinating unit resources to align staffing with census and acuity while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

The RN will supervise care, respond to emergencies, support the staffing office, and participate in hospital committees as needed. BSN within 4 years, Montana RN license, and BLS required.

Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited program required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current State of Montana RN License.
• BLS Certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care; supports staff in addressing patient/family issues, physician concerns, risk management, safety.
• Responds to patient emergencies; acts as charge or lead for disasters.
• Collaborates with staffing office to adjust staff for census changes during shift.
• Communicates with the incoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, admissions, and discharges.
• Supports unit management in productivity, staffing, and timekeeping; coordinates unit activities.
• May float to other departments within competency; may be placed on-call during a shift.
