Responsibilities

• Supervise and/or provide direct patient care and support staff on the shift.
• Respond to patient emergencies and act as charge/lead for disasters as needed.
• Collaborate with staffing to adjust numbers for census changes during the shift.
• Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, admissions, discharges, and issues.
• Support unit management in staffing, productivity, and timekeeping; participate in hospital committees as needed.
