BayCare Health System in Wesley Chapel, Florida, is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical ICU. You will provide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

Candidates must hold an active RN license in Florida, have 1 year of ICU experience, and possess BLS and ACLS certifications. A BSN is preferred. This full-time, in-person role includes rotating shifts and every-other-weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• RN license valid in Florida or eligible to practice in FL.
• Degree in nursing: Diploma, ADN, or BSN.
• Preferred: BSN.
• Minimum 1 year ICU RN experience in acute care.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsabilités

• Provide nursing care to ICU patients using the nursing process and standards.
• Delegate care activities to other health care team members as appropriate.
• Care for patients through their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments for the care team.
• Identify and respond to sudden changes in patient condition or emergencies.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence to communicate clearly with patients.

• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
