Job summary

BayCare seeks a Registered Nurse for the ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, FL, working 6:45 PM–7:15 AM. This full-time, in-person role requires an RN license, a nursing degree, and BLS/ACLS certs.

Ideal candidates have ICU experience and a commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include direct patient care in the ICU, vitals monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• 1 year ICU experience in acute care setting preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients using the nursing process.
• Monitor patient status, document vitals, and communicate changes to the care team.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff for care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education as needed.

• Status: Full Time

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
