BayCare in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care for adult patients in the Cardiovascular ICU. This full‑time role requires shifting 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every other weekend, and it is an in‑person position at Winter Haven Hospital.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing.
• Nursing degree (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor).
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year RN ICU experience in acute care.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients in a hospital setting using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to health care team members.
• Support patient recovery throughout their stay in critical care.
• Monitor vitals, document assessments, and communicate changes to the team.
• Identify and respond to emergencies in critical patients.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Maintain professional accountability and ongoing development.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
