Job summary

BayCare's Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL, seeks an experienced RN for the Medical/Surgical ICU. The role is full time, requires a Florida RN license, and involves 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM shifts with every other weekend. On-call is not required, and the work is in person.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of ICU RN experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a nursing degree (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor). BayCare offers comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify sudden or subtle changes in patient condition.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
