BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse for the ICU to lead patient care in a high-acuity environment. You will oversee nursing care, coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, and ensure smooth patient flow from admission through discharge.

Required are an RN license, 2 years ICU experience in acute care, and BLS/ACLS credentials. The role is full time, in person, with weekend requirements and no on-call duties.

• Location: BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel – Medical/Surgical ICU – Wesley Chapel, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
