Job summary

BayCare in Riverview, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital South. The night shift runs from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every other weekend requirements and in-person work.

You will deliver expert, compassionate care to ICU patients in a high-acuity setting. The role requires an active RN license and a nursing degree, with a preference for a Bachelor's. A minimum of 1 year ICU experience, BLS and ACLS certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year RN ICU experience in acute care setting.
• BLS certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from American Heart Association preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Monitor patient vitals, update care team, and document assessments.
• Identifies and responds to changes in patient condition.
• Coordinates discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
