BayCare Health System seeks a Registered Nurse for the ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU in Tampa, FL. The role is full-time, with a night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM and every other weekend, in person.

Requirements include RN license, nursing degree, and 1 year ICU experience, plus BLS/ACLS. BayCare offers strong benefits and career growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

• RN license or higher required.
• Diploma, associate, or bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
• 1 year ICU RN experience in acute care setting required.
• BLS certification (AHA/Red Cross) and ACLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Care for ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to the health care team.
• Support patients through recovery in critical care.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments.
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence to enhance patient experiences.
• Pursue professional accountability and development.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
