Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical ICU in Plant City, Florida. The role is full-time with a 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM shift and every-other-weekend requirements. In-person, on-site position within a nationally recognized health system.

You will provide direct patient care to ICU patients, monitor vitals, and coordinate with the care team to ensure timely discharges and exceptional outcomes. BayCare offers extensive training and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• RN License required.
• Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's in Nursing (or higher).
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to health care team.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments; respond to emergencies.

• This position may be available for the Critical Care Internship Program; however, availability is subject to change based on current openings and staffing capacity

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
