Job summary

BayCare in Tampa, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular ICU to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring critically ill patients, delivering evidence-based nursing interventions, and coordinating with the multidisciplinary team. This full-time, in-person role requires a Florida RN license, 1 year ICU experience, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Shifts are 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, with every other weekend.

Qualifications

• RN license required to practice in Florida.
• Minimum 1 year of RN ICU experience in acute care.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Monitor vitals, assess changes, and communicate with care team.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals as needed.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence and patient-centered communication.

• Location: St. Joseph's Hospital – Cardiovascular ICU – Tampa, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
