BayCare Health System in Bartow, FL is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse for the ICU to lead care for a stable group of critically ill patients. You will apply the nursing process, supervise team members, and ensure seamless patient flow across shifts.

The role requires an active RN license in Florida, ICU experience, BLS and ACLS, and relevant certifications. The position is full-time, evenings and nights 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, with every other weekend in person and no on-call.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing to practice in Florida
• 2 years ICU RN experience in an acute care setting
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• CCRN/CDN/CNN or related RN specialty certification expected within 7 months of hire

Responsabilités

• Lead care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to the health care team
• Monitor and document patient vitals and changes, escalating when needed
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain professional accountability and act as a role model for the nursing team

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
