BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU/CCU at Morton Plant Hospital. This full-time role operates 6:45 PM–7:15 AM with every-other-weekend requirements and in-person shifts.

You will deliver compassionate, evidence-based critical care to neurological, medical, surgical and cardiovascular ICU patients, using the nursing process and collaborative teamwork to ensure safe patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license in Florida.
• Diploma/ ADN/ BSN or higher in Nursing.
• 1 year RN ICU experience in Acute Care setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to the health care team.
• Monitor patient vitals and assessments and update the care team.
• Identify and respond to sudden changes in a patient’s condition.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and maintain professional accountability.

• Location: Morton Plant Hospital - Neuro ICU/CCU - Clearwater, Florida
• This unit will treat Neurological, Medical, Surgical and Cardiovascular ICU patients
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
