Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical ICU at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. This full-time role requires ICU experience and an RN license, with on-site shifts and every-other-weekend work.

A sign-on bonus is available based on experience. You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced ICU setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN license and current nursing certification.
• 1 year of ICU RN experience in acute care.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for ICU patients using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Monitor, record, and report patient vitals and changes to the care team.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to health care team members as needed.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient experience.

• Location: Morton Plant Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Clearwater, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM/6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
