Job summary

BayCare is seeking a dedicated ICU Critical Care - Adults Registered Nurse for the St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview, FL. This full-time role follows a 6:15 PM – 6:45 AM shift, with every other weekend requirement and in-person work.

Qualifications

• RN license required and current in Florida.
• CCR N/CDN/CNN certifications are preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or RN specialty certification within 7 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years RN ICU experience in acute care.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for ICU adults using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to healthcare team members.
• Monitor patient vitals, update care team, and document changes.
• Identify and respond to clinical changes and emergencies in critical care.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
