Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Professional Development Specialist (RN) to lead nursing education initiatives, mentor staff, and drive evidence-based practice across departments. You will develop orientation plans, coordinate continuing education, and partner with clinical leaders to improve patient outcomes.

Qualified candidates have BSN at minimum, with MSN in education or MEd preferred, and 5+ years of clinical nursing experience or 3+ years with formal educator experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN required; MSN with education focus or MEd preferred.
• Minimum five years of applicable clinical nursing experience or three years plus two years of formal educator experience.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development (ANCC/ANPD) required within two years.
• BLS certification required; ACLS for critical care areas; NRP for perinatal areas.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: coordinate orientation for new hires, assess learning styles, and support acclimation.
• On-going staff education: evaluate learning needs and maintain education files.
• Leadership: demonstrate motivation, teaching, delegation, and mentoring to peers.
• Professional development: pursue personal growth and provide development opportunities for others.
• Unit population competency: ensure staff have competencies relevant to patient populations served.
