Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network in Kentucky seeks a Professional Development Specialist (RN) to lead nursing education, advance clinical practice, and mentor staff across departments.

This role emphasizes assessing practice gaps, planning and implementing evidence-based education, and evaluating outcomes to improve patient care and safety.

You will collaborate with interprofessional teams, coordinate preceptors, and ensure ongoing competency through Education Day and specialty certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BSN required; MSN with education focus or MEd preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development required within two years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; ACLS/NRP contingent on specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: communicate with new employees before start date and orient to the process.
• Assessment: identify learning needs in collaboration with Clinical Manager.
• Planning/Identification of Educational Outcomes: prepare competency-based orientations.
• Implementation: coordinate Education Day and unit-based education sessions.
• Evaluation: monitor orientee progress and document outcomes.
• Leadership and Mentorship: supervise staff education and mentor RN staff.
• Coordination: manage preceptor development and education events.
