Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• BSN required; MSN with education focus or MEd preferred.
• Minimum five years clinical nursing experience; two years educator experience preferred.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development within two years.
• BLS required; ACLS for critical care areas; NRP for perinatal areas.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: communicate with new employee, assess learning style, overview orientation.
• Ongoing staff education: evaluate and plan staff education per needs.
• Leadership: motivate, educate, delegate, mentor peers and other healthcare team members.
• Professional development: support growth, coordinate education, maintain competencies.
• Duties: collaborate with educators and instructors; mentor RN staff; support staff in advancement processes.
• Unit population competency: ensure staff competencies across patient populations.
