Description:Hiring process includes candidate profile review and interview by the manager.Candidates should be available for the week of orientation.This unit has 22 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, and 7 triage beds.There are 34 postpartum beds with an average of 8 births per day.AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios are followed.The unit requires certifications in BLS and NRP.Common diagnoses include postpartum vaginal delivery, C-section, and care for newborns.RNs are not required to titrate drips.There is a charge nurse and house supervisor on duty at night, but the charge nurse does not take patients.There are no nurse aids or surgical techs on this unit.OB and NNP are in-house 24/7.Anesthesia is also available in-house 24/7.No RT equipment such as vents or CPAP is on this unit.Telemetry techs are not present; RNs must visualize pulse oximetry readings.The EFM system used is Epic.The unit allows for 6-week block scheduling.Every third weekend is required for shifts.There is a call requirement of 18 hours every 6 weeks.Floating is not a requirement but preferred candidates should be able to do labor and delivery if needed, and ACLS certification would be required for that.Scrub color for the unit is navy blue.Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.Charting system used is Epic.BSN is not required for this position.This position is in an acute care setting.
