Description:Unit requires prescreening.Candidates must provide two supervisory references from the modality submitted.References must meet specific time frame requirements.Direct employment by any associated facility within the past year is not acceptable.Travelers are expected to work two of three major holidays.Managers finalize scheduling, but holiday time off will be considered, though not guaranteed.Unit requires RNs to assist in C-sections: one for the mother and one for the baby.Both RNs will circulate.Staffing ratios are 1:2 in Labor and Delivery, 1:1 during delivery, and 1:4 for Mother/Baby couplets.Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner.Charge Nurse role may include break relief but generally does not take patients.Nurse Aides may be present based on census and staffing requirements.Weekend requirements include every other weekend.Floating may occur to other facilities as needed.Self-scheduling is utilized, but not finalized until management balances it.Scheduling is provided four weeks in advance.Travelers can access their schedules from home and may indicate availability for extra shifts or trades with staff.If placed on call, a 30-minute response time is required.Floor-specific orientation will be provided with a preceptor.The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including term, preterm, and high-risk patients.Excellent breastfeeding support is available.Client may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment, and three shifts for assignments of less than 13 weeks.Candidates must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.No vent management is required.Clientist services are available in-house.Pharmacy and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7.
