Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Postpartum unit to care for mothers and newborns on a 13-week assignment. The role requires a 12-hour night shift, 36 hours per week, and involves pediatric and obstetric care with support from on-site specialists.

Candidate must have active RN license, BLS and NRP, and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with COVID vaccination required. Expect to titrate drips including magnesium and coordinate with control of care teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Postpartum and newborn care experience preferred.
• Active RN license with BLS and NRP certifications required.
• COVID vaccination is required.
• Must be able to titrate IV drips, including magnesium.

Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum and newborn nursing care on unit.
• Monitor mother and infant, assess vitals and clinical status.
• Titrate IV fluids and medications per protocol (magnesium).
• Collaborate with OB/Neonatology and on-site specialists 24/7.
• Document care in EPIC perinatal workflow and coordinate with CNAs.

Description:COVID vaccination required.This unit provides care for postpartum patients and newborns.The unit has a total of 32 postpartum beds.There are 11 labor and delivery beds and 7 antepartum/high-risk beds.Daily, approximately 4000 births occur per year in the facility.The unit adheres to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios.Common patient diagnoses include pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, and substance abuse disorders.RNs are required to titrate drips including magnesium.There are CNAs available to assist on the unit.An OB/Neonatologist is on-site 24/7.A neonatal advanced practice provider is also available around the clock.Respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP is available for NICU patients.The monitoring system used is Centricity Perinatal.Nurses may be required to float to L&D for normal newborn transitions.Client scrubs or personal scrubs are permitted on the unit.There is a call requirement if the RN is on call due to low census.Weekend and holiday work is required.The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.The charting system utilized is EPIC.
