Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a Nurse, RN, to serve as Patient Flow Coordinator in the Emergency Department on the night shift (7 pm–7 am). The role focuses on managing patient throughput, coordinating bed placement, and leading ED staff to improve patient experience and safety.

You will collaborate across departments, provide leadership, round the ED, and ensure alignment with policies while delivering compassionate care and maintaining regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required to practice as an RN.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights and preferences.
• Participate in policy development impacting patient flow.
• Provide staff performance feedback to ED leadership.
• Regularly round in triage, waiting rooms, and patient rooms.
• Act as liaison with Bed Management, ED staff, case management, and other departments to ensure timely placement.
• Organize work environment and care teams to achieve ED outcomes.
• Supervise patient placement and flow through the ED with clear leadership.
• Maintain oversight of ED tracking board and patient throughput.
