Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is hiring a Patient Flow Coordinator (RN) for the Emergency Department on the night shift (7 pm – 7 am). The role focuses on optimizing patient throughput and coordinating bed management across ED staff.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and has strong communication and teamwork skills. ED experience and prior charge nurse roles are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Active RN license in Georgia is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; Trauma course preferred.
• ED experience and/or charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient rights, preferences and expectations are respected.
• Coordinate patient flow with Bed Management, ED staff, providers and other departments.
• Supervise patient placement and throughput in the ED, with clear leadership and prioritization.
• Provide feedback to ED leadership on throughput, safety and quality practices.
• Maintain ED tracking board and communicate throughput updates to the team.
• Participate in performance improvement projects and policy development as needed.
• Interact with patients and family/caregivers to support throughput and experience.
