Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Patient Flow Coordinator (RN) for the Emergency Department night shift (7 pm–7 am). The role centers on optimizing throughput, supervision of patient placement, and cross‑functional coordination with ED staff and bed management.

The ideal candidate holds an associate nursing degree (bachelor's preferred), RN licensure with BLS and ACLS, and has ED or charge-nurse experience. Night-shift nursing excellence is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Active RN license and BLS certification mandatory.
• ACLS certification required; trauma core course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences, and expectations.
• Constant rounding in ED to oversee patient flow and throughput.
• Liaise between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, and case management to assure timely placement.
• Coordinate patient flow into and out of ED and supervise placement decisions.
• Provide leadership and clear communication to ED staff and other departments.
• Supports performance improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
