Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Compentent Registered Nurse to deliver total, patient-centered care and collaborate with the care team using evidence-based knowledge.

The role includes direct nursing care, patient/family teaching, discharge planning, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates; internal associates are not eligible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of one-year nursing experience, preferred.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN preferred; ADN required to obtain BSN within five years of hire (Effective March 2014).
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• AHA ACLS Provider required within 60 days.
• AHA PALS Provider required within 90 days.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.
• ENA ENPC & TNCC required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family and health team members in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate plan of care with health team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care and participate in improvement activities.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and hospital committees.
• Serve as a point of contact on policies and procedures for nurses and staff.
• Participate in daily operational activities for patient and staff safety.
