Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide total, continuous, patient-centered care. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to apply evidence-based knowledge and ensure high-quality outcomes for an assigned patient group.

Responsibilities include directing nursing care, coordinating with patients and families, communicating plans with the care team, and participating in performance improvement activities and staff orientation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and RN experience.
• RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state.
• BSN required.
• BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• ACLS Provider required within 60 days.
• PALS Provider required within 90 days.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.
• External Temporary RN: if CPI, ONS or NIHSS is required, it must be completed within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate patient/family involvement in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care to health team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards and improve patient care services.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality activities.
• Orient new staff and support unit operations.
• Act as contact on policies and procedures for nurses.
