Job summary

South Shore Health System in Massachusetts is seeking an Operating Room Service Line Coordinator, a registered nurse responsible for coordinating clinical and operational activities for designated surgical specialties. This role collaborates with surgeons, nursing leadership, and ancillary departments to optimize service line performance and patient outcomes.

The position involves staff education, scheduling, room assignment, budgeting input, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as validated through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
• 5 years of OR nursing experience required; 2 years of management experience preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in acute care nursing knowledge and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Manages, plans, and monitors day-to-day clinical operations of specialty services.
• Serves as a clinical and operational liaison between surgeons, surgical staff, hospital leadership and ancillary departments.
• Identifies and coordinates the needs for physicians in all specialty services and submits new products to Value Analysis Committee based on surgeon preference.
• Acts as a resource for clinical staff, offering guidance on best practices and protocols for the service line.
• Collaborates with OR manager in hiring and evaluating; assists with budgeting, capital planning, and service line development strategies.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and infection control guidelines.
