Job summary

South Shore Health System is seeking an Operating Room Service Line Coordinator, a registered nurse who will coordinate clinical and operational activities for designated surgical services and partner with surgeons, leadership, and support teams to optimize patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes data-driven process improvements, budgeting support, staff education, and ensuring availability of equipment and supplies for cases.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as validated through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
• 5 Years of OR nursing experience required.
• 2 years of management experience preferred.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• Demonstrates proficiency in acute care nursing knowledge and skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day clinical operations of designated specialty services.
• Serves as a clinical and operational liaison between surgeons, surgical staff, hospital leadership and ancillary departments.
• Identifies and coordinates physician needs and submits new products to Value Analysis Committee based on surgeon preference, with clinical support.
• Guides staff on best practices and protocols, including EPIC documentation, specimen handling, patient positioning, and surgeon preferences.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, materials management, CPD and other departments.
• Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for cases and supports scheduling with accuracy.
• Maintains preference card accuracy reflecting equipment, supplies and workflow.
• Analyzes service line data, case volume, costs and efficiency and recommends improvements.
• Assists with budgeting, capital planning and service line development strategies.
• Provides information to develop the annual budget and prioritizes capital needs.
