Job summary

UNMH is seeking an experienced nurse leader to assume primary administrative responsibility during assigned shifts. You will supervise staff, coordinate with physicians and departments, and drive patient safety and communication across units.

The role acts as on-site representative for administration and ensures policy adherence. The position emphasizes leadership, crisis management, and collaboration with nursing teams to maintain high-quality patient care across neonatal to geriatric

Qualifications

• Essential: Program Graduate and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Essential: Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate; RN license in NM or via reciprocal agreement.
• Credentials: CPR for Healthcare/Basic Life Support; able to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff, develop structure, train, discipline, and conduct appraisals.
• Promote staff development and supervise supervisory personnel.
• Participate in departmental and hospital goals, policies, and programs.
• Participate in committees and task forces; communicate via proper channels.
• Lead patient safety initiatives and ensure high reliability in care delivery.
• Act as liaison among physicians, staff, patients, families, and departments.
