Job summary

Spencer Hospital is seeking a qualified ICU nurse for PRN shifts in a rural northwest Iowa setting. The role requires use of the nursing process to deliver individualized ICU care, ensuring patient outcomes are optimized during each shift.

Applicants must hold an Iowa RN license and be certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (in-house training available). Prior Med/Surgical or critical care experience is preferred, with rotation across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must hold Iowa RN license and be a caring communicator.
• In-house BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certs are required or obtained on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process in the ICU.
• Own the outcomes of nursing care during assigned shifts.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver total patient care.
• Apply age-appropriate protocols for patient physical and psychological needs.

Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements:

• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
• IA RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC are required - inhouse education available upon hire
• One year of Medical/Surgical preferred or critical care experience
• New grads with a strong desire for critical care are encouraged to apply

Schedule:

• PRN
• Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday Rotation
• 12 hour shifts 6:30-7
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
