Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA seeks a RN Clinical Supervisor for ICU to lead nursing staff, participate in hiring, training, and patient care oversight. The role involves rounds, collaboration with teams, and ongoing staff development within a 12-hour shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and clinical supervision of staff; including participating in hiring, training, coaching, developing and monitoring of qualified staff.
• Provides supervision in areas including: compliance, assessment, evaluation, and other clinical services.
• Responsible for making rounds on patients and staff to ensure patient safety and satisfaction and collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.
• Participates in all assigned management, supervisory, staff and team meetings; attend in-service trainings and staff development activities as scheduled.
• Performs specialized tasks/projects and other duties as assigned, e.g. Performance Board monthly updates, QAPI, Language of Caring training, budget preparation, etc.
• Participates in committees and serves as a liaison between department and providers.
• Demonstrates professional practice, knowledge, and skills and utilizes nursing processes to provide for the needs of the patient.
• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients
