Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Float Nurse for Greenville Hospital, working 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. with 36 weekly hours in a night shift. The role crosses Med Surg, ICU, ED, and OB, offering broad skills and a pay incentive for float. Requires RN license and current BLS/ACLS with associated trainings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's in nursing required within 5 years.
• MI RN license required.
• BLS within 90 days.
• ACLS within 6 months.
• PALS within 180 days.
• TNCC and ENPC trainings as applicable.
• NRP within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care as per ANA standards and state regulations.
• Demonstrate nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Maintain ethical practice, cultural congruence, communication and collaboration.

A Float position gives you the opportunity to cross train to Med Surg, ICU, Emergency Departments, and OB. Float offers an opportunity to learn a broader skill set and enhance your skills by working in these departments. There also is a pay incentive for working Float.

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
• CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association within 180 Days
• CRT-Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association within 1 Year
• CRT-Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required within 180 days
