Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN, CRL, CNL) for the Family Birthing Center in New Britain, CT. This role oversees patient care, clinical staff and daily unit operations, including off-shift supervision, payroll, scheduling and throughput to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Required BSN (within 3 years for existing incumbents), CT RN licensure, and 2 years of acute care nursing experience.

Qualifications

• BSN required; incumbent must obtain BSN within 3 years of start date
• Experience in acute care nursing preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to manage staff and complex operations

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care, clinical personnel and unit operations
• Supervise a work group to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, family-centered care
• Manage daily department operations including off-shift and weekend supervision
• Support payroll, colleague scheduling and patient throughput to maintain efficient clinical operations
• Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives and lead change as needed
